The RoboCNC Optimum BF20L mill that we have been converting to CNC needs a nice controller.
Till now we where only used to drive CNC using the parallel port and Mach3.
For the RoboCNC Optimum BF20L we wanted something new like USB.
Last but not least the Optimum BF20L X axis conversion to CNC.
The X axis is the one that travels from left to right.. “The table / Bed”
I provide all this information for free so some credits would be great if you use them.
It’s time for the second axis to show some movement.
This time we will start working on the Y axis, just because the X axis is on top of Y.
Almost all info on the assembly can be seen in the YouTube movie.
We bought a Optimum BF20 L as a conventional machine that needs to be converted to CNC.
There are a lot of options of driving the lead screws of all these axis.
Some say ‘Take of the hand-wheels and place some motors on them” (not our approach).
So lets start of this new build log with the machine base.
We start of with the conventional Optimum BF20L Vario mill.
With this machine comes a standard base cabinet and chip collection plate.
